Fritz Hensel founded Commercial Laundry Equipment Company in 1969 with a straightforward mission: service laundry equipment honestly and well for the hotels, nursing homes, dry cleaners, and businesses that depended on it across South Florida. No shortcuts, no overselling — just reliable work done right.
That reputation built the business steadily. Fritz brought his sons Bob and Paul Hensel into the company to manage its growth, and they carried forward the same values he'd established from day one. The company expanded from pure service into full equipment distribution, earning factory authorization from the industry's leading manufacturers.
Today CLEC operates as a full-service commercial laundry equipment company — selling, installing, servicing, and supplying parts for UniMac, Speed Queen, Braun, and CMV equipment throughout Palm Beach and Broward Counties. Thousands of customers across South Florida, across the country, and internationally have trusted CLEC with their laundry operations over the past five and a half decades.
